"What would the world be like if we knew that we could have a place for our stories to be told?”

Red Tent New Hampshire

“We're connected... It's like a spiderweb. If one part of that web vibrates, if there's trouble, we all know it, but most of the time we're just too scared, or selfish, or insecure to help. But if we decided to help each other?"

Welcome to the Red Tent of New Hampshire! We have created this group to be a place for those who identify as female or non-binary folks who feel it would be helpful to them. We welcome teens and adults 15+ to come together, share stories and laughter, and find your community.

Historically, Red Tents were places women would go during menstruation or childbirth. In 1997, author Anita Diamant wrote a novel called The Red Tent, filled with themes of feminine power, unity, and support that was centralized to the connections made in the Red Tent. Since its publishing, women across the world have latched onto the idea of a tribe of sisters from which to find comfort, companionship, and healing. Women are hosting workshops, circles, parties, and monthly gatherings in the spirit of this shared sisterhood. Together, we are reclaiming our power and learning to love ourselves and each other. Please note that by today’s standards, one does not need to be currently menstruating in order to participate, to have a menstrual cycle at all or to have ever given birth, though young babes in arms are welcome.

Red Tent gatherings can be many things, but initially, we simply want a safe space to share stories, hopes, fears, and desires that don't often have a place in general society. Red tents are for coming together over good food, good conversation, and good intentions. We will talk, share stories of joy, success, and heartache, sing songs, ask for help or prayers, or whatever else we feel is needed or called to. We typically open circles with a saging and a short guided meditation, followed by the share circle and pulling Goddess Cards.

All are welcome to join in discussions, but please also feel welcome to come and sit quietly - meditate, create art, or simply enjoy a bowl of nourishing soup and a cup of tea in the presence of love.

Many may feel nervous about trying Red Tent for the first time. Please let us know if this is the case and we will make sure you feel warmly welcomed upon your arrival and supported. We also invite you to share your pronouns with us.

The only rule we must all follow is to show respect for one another's differences of opinion and confidentiality.

Red Tents are held on or around the full and new moons each month. We greatly look forward to meeting you!
